Beauty with a Conscience
Sanyukta Shrestha is a multi-awarded designer and pioneer in Sustainable Bridalwear, with a niche following for the timeless designs which the brand is known for. For the past 10 years, the brand has introduced to the bridal industry eco-friendly fibres such as bamboo, milk, hemp and organic cotton with a luxurious feel and impeccable quality, drawing inspiration from nature’s treasures. The careful selection of each fibre ensures the protection of the skin and the comfortable feel, as well as following carefully the eco-friendly criteria of production and sourcing from ethical suppliers.
The decision to use these natural and sustainable fibres in the brand’s collections underlines the serious commitment towards the environment and the community, developing a “beauty with a conscience”. Hand spun, hand-woven, hand-embroidered, and handmade from start to finish, a signature Sanyukta Shrestha Gown has a unique personal journey and it is made with love and respect. Every design reflects hours of work, and pays tribute to the Nepalese Craftsmanship, creating a luxurious, sustainable and ethically made one of a kind gown.
By bringing together sustainability with ethical beliefs, the brand also creates work opportunities for village women in Nepal and ensures over a century old exquisite traditional skills of Nepalese craftsmanship (hand-looming) are preserved which are on the verge of extinction. The organic cotton, hemp, bamboo and nettle that are used in the collections, include fibres that are hand spun to create a yarn that can be turned into fabric. The brand is also working together with social organisations in Nepal that provide jobs for marginalised women and give back to the community.
