Embracing body positivity is something that’s not just a fad or a trend, but an important topic today. Every bride should feel extra special on her perfect day, whether naturally curvy or not. Fleur Nittolo is a fabulously-curvy bride who found her perfect match through one of Sanyukta Shrestha’s designs.
With a rustic charm, Fluer and Eddie’s wedding was nestled in the gorgeous luxury destination of Villa di Maiano, Fiesole, Italy. Her ethical wedding dress was custom made by Sanyukta Shrestha Atelier and crafted elegantly to flatter her naturally beautiful curves. Fluer is also a green, eco-friendly queen, saying that “love green, believe in ethics” is a motto in which she lives by. The sustainable bride—who opted for an antique white as her choice of colour—looked stunning in a hemp-silk bespoke wedding dress tailored to fit beautifully by the Sanyukta Shrestha team at Behuli Boutique in Fulham, London.
For a bride with a more fuller, hour-glass figure, Fluer said that she was a bit nervous that she may not be able to wear any of the gorgeous silk dresses hanging on the racks. But Sanyukta Shrestha conquered all those fears, exemplifying how you can love your body, highlighting and celebrating how brides with curves can feel elegant in the luxury bridal dress of their dreams.
“As a plus-size bride, I was nervous when I first arrived at the Behuli atelier that any of her gorgeous silk creations would fit me, but Sanyukta made me feel so comfortable and very quickly put me at ease! My dress idea came to life with her design flair and within seconds of her pinning me in, and with a few quick adjustments I knew I had found the perfect dress that completely represented me.”
WHERE DID YOU MEET
I was walking home down Putney High Street after my Christmas party and saw a tall, dark and handsome man standing outside the Spotted Horse, and fate (or the cocktails) compelled me to walk across the road and introduce myself to him. We never looked back!
Eddie took me for a morning walk to my favourite beachside spot on the Gold Coast (Burleigh Headland) and proposed as watched the early morning surfers.
MOST MAGICAL MOMENT
When the saxophonist came out after dinner and ordered us all to the dancefloor! We had a DJ combined with a live saxophonist and drummer and it was the best money we spent. The whole room was jumping and when they played our favourite song, it was like there was no one else in the room.
As a plus-size bride, I was hesitant when I first arrived at the Behuli atelier that any of her gorgeous silk creations would fit me, but Sanyukta made me feel so comfortable and very quickly put me at ease! My dress idea came to life with her design flair. Within seconds of her pinning me in—and with a few quick adjustments—I knew I had found the perfect dress that completely represented me.
The story of women’s empowerment and working with the Nepalese Ashram also really spoke to me and I was delighted that by purchasing my wedding gown through Behuli I would also be supporting sustainability and women’s equality!
My dress was made out of hemp fabric which shone so beautifully (I’m sure the hypoallergenic qualities were helping to calm me down on the day)! I absolutely loved going in for my fittings. The team were professional and a delight to visit (shout out to Elham) and the service I received was unbelievable from start to finish.
This was one of the main reasons I bought my dress from Sanyukta. I loved the feeling of being able to empower other women by purchasing my dress through Behuli and I have never felt better in the fabric—it was so soft, so stunning. Fast fashion is so crippling to the environment and by design, wedding dresses are something that you generally only wear once…which is such a shame when so much effort goes into them. I’m actually getting my dress re-designed now into a new style so that I can wear it again and again!

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE
I did for our London registry wedding (I wore my great auntie’s sapphire earrings for the old and borrowed, an electric blue dress for the blue, and my new Sophia Webster shoes for the new. But for the Italian wedding, my dress was the star of the day. I had everything new to go with it!
